Map layer shows the projected state of land cover in the future. The distribution of individual categories of land cover in the Czech Republic, based on predictive relationships derived from differences in the representation of land cover categories in history (1990-2012) is displayed.
The map shows the distribution of various categories of land cover in the Czech Republic, based on the basis of predictive relationships, derived from differences in the representation of land cover categories since 1990. The model works at a resolution of 500×500 meters therefore a certain generalization of smaller landscape segments has occurred. All the used climate models show a change in the spatial distribution and total area of individual land cover categories in the future. The largest absolute changes will occur during the last concerned period 2080–2100 (for the year 2090). When interpreting the results it is necessary to take into account the fact that the land cover development is a result of many factors, so the final maps do not reflect only dependence on climatic factors. In this case, 8 factors have been included into the model; while 6 of them were set by the same way for all periods, only climatic factors have varied. In scenarios where the response to climatic factors was low, the influence of other factors has prevailed in the model (e.g. the proximity of urban area).
