Winter Minimum Air Temperature
The infographic shows the average number of days with a minimum air temperature lower than -10 °C and -20 °C during the individual winters. This number is calculated as an average from all stations in the Czech Republic (it is therefore not a whole number). Smaller bar charts on the right show the winter average number of such days in the various decades. All the charts show that the number of days with very low temperatures decreases. Overall the lowest number of such days was observed in the winter of 2019/2020, when there was, on average less than 1 day with a daily minimum lower than -10 °C. In contrast, in the winter of 1962/63, there were, on average, almost 47 such days, and in the winter of 1984/85, there were, on average, over 7 days with a daily minimum lower than -20 °C.
